SFRC
LEADERS leading LEADERS
LEADERS leading LEADERS
For nearly four decades, SFRC has been proving that you can take softball seriously without taking yourself too seriously.
We're a group of friends, competitors, stat geeks, occasional champions, and responsible beer drinkers who show up every season for the same reason: to have fun.
The championships are nice too.
Since 1987 A.D., SFRC has built a tradition around great teammates, memorable moments, questionable quotes, and surprisingly competitive slow pitch softball. Along the way we've collected league titles, hundreds of wins, thousands of stats, and enough stories to fill an entire website.
Most recently, we added the 2026 Fall League Championship to the trophy case.
But ask anyone who's played with us, and they'll tell you the same thing:
The people matter more than the scoreboard.
Plenty of teams have won games.
Not many have been around since 1987.
SFRC has survived bad weather, bad hops, aging knees, roster changes, championship runs, heartbreaking losses, and countless post-game beers. Through it all, the culture has remained remarkably consistent.
We play hard.
We laugh harder.
We celebrate everyone's success.
And when the game is over, we're usually still hanging around talking about it.
New players quickly discover that you don't join SFRC simply because you can hit a softball. You join because you're someone people enjoy spending a summer evening with.
That's been the formula for nearly 40 years.
Some things are simply impossible to explain.
The SFRC Quote Page is one of them.
Over the years, teammates have managed to produce an astonishing collection of completely innocent comments that, when removed from context, become comedy gold.
Nobody tries.
Nobody plans it.
It just keeps happening.
The Quote Page has become one of the most beloved traditions in team history because it captures exactly what makes SFRC unique: a group of friends having fun together and creating stories they'll be laughing about years later.
You probably shouldn't read it at work.
Some teams remember who had a good game.
We have receipts.
SFRC maintains years of player and team statistics so everyone can see exactly how they're performing. Batting averages, on-base percentages, slugging numbers, championships, rankings, career achievements, and historical records all help tell the story of the team.
Do the stats matter?
Absolutely.
Do we occasionally remind each other of them?
Also absolutely.
Whether you're chasing a career milestone or just trying to avoid being mentioned in the wrong category, the numbers are always there.
Most recreational softball teams don't have a film room.
We have more than 100 video clips and counting.
The SFRC Film Room captures memorable plays, great catches, clutch hits, questionable base running decisions, championship moments, and the occasional play that looks much better in our memory than it did on video.
It's part entertainment, part coaching, and part historical archive.
Most importantly, it's another way we preserve the moments that make this team special.
Every season adds a few more highlights.
And a few more bloopers.
Don't get us wrong.
Winning is fun.
Very fun.
SFRC has earned its share of league championships over the years, including the 2026 Fall League Championship, because we play hard and compete every time we step on the field.
But the trophies aren't what have kept this team together since 1987.
What keeps people coming back are the friendships, the laughs, the stories, the inside jokes, the annual traditions, and the feeling that every Thursday night is a little better when you're spending it with your teammates.
That's what lasts.
